Earnestine was born, January 13,1944, in Atlanta, Georgia. She was the third of five children born to Rufus and Elizabeth Woods, Sr. Earnestine attended the Monmouth County Public School System, and graduated in 1963. While attending high school, Earnestine also worked in the cafeteria at Monmouth Medical Center, where she met her future husband. They married in August of 1963, five children came out of that union. The family relocated to Georgia in 1985.
In 1969, Earnestine started studying the word of Jehovah, and was a devoted Jehovah’s Witness who continued to love and spread the word of Jehovah until she passed.
Earnestine was preceded in death by her parents, Rufus and Elizabeth Woods, Sr.; siblings, Rufus Woods, Jr., Diane Gardner, Earl Woods and Arnold Woods; and daughter, Vanessa “Diane” Reid. She is survived by her husband, Vincent Reid, Sr.; two sons, Vincent Reid, Jr. (Tracy) of Georgia and George Reid (Belinda) of Kentucky; two daughters, Gearldine Reid of North Carolina and Patricia Reid of Georgia; an adopted daughter, Malika Moore of Georgia; eleven grandchildren, Malikah Brown (Jethro), Tanzania Collier (Marcus), Sunni Williams, Kendra Brown (Patrick), Shandor Brown, Jr, David Williams, III (Anesha), Raya Thompson, Nolana McDermott (Chris), Tunisia Brown, Malique Clarke and Quadir Reid; twenty-one great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews and friends; a devoted sister-in-trust, Mrs. Shirley Coleman; and her fur babies, “Coco” Chanel and Princetopher “Poochie.”.
Visitation for Earnestine will be held on Friday, April 21, 2023 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM in The Heritage Suite at Horis A. Ward - Fairview Chapel, 376 Fairview Road, Stockbridge, Georgia 30281. A Celebration of Life for Earnestine Reid will be held on Saturday, April 22, 2023 at 12:00 Noon in The Fairview Suite.
