Dorothy "Dot" Marie (Griner) Morgan

Visitation and service will be on Wednesday, May 26, 2021 at Horis A. Ward Funeral Home – Fairview Chapel, 376 Fairview Road, Stockbridge, Georgia 30281. The family will receive visitors from 10:00am-12:00pm and service will follow at 12:00pm with Adrien Neely of Brightmoor Hospice, officiating. Burial will follow on the grounds of Fairview Memorial Gardens.

Dorothy was born in Lowndes, County Georgia to Mattie Lou (Southall) Griner and Walter B. Griner on Augusta 24, 1942. She attended Pine Grove School up until the 11th grade. She was then transferred to Lowndes County High School and was among the first graduating class of the new school where she graduated. She married Willie "Bill" Woodrow Morgan, Sr. on June 18, 1960 in Ray City, Georgia. She worked as a pharmacy technician for KMart for 30 years at the Forest Park and Jonesboro locations.

Dorothy loved her family, especially her husband Bill of 60+ years. She loved her blooming flowers in her yard and watching the birds visit the birdfeeders in their yard. She especially loved the hummingbirds.

Dorothy is preceded in death by her mother Mattie Lou Southall-Griner, stepmother Ruthie Griner, father Walter B Griner of Valdosta, brother Carol Griner of Valdosta.

Dorothy is survived by her husband, Willie ‘Bill’ Woodrow Morgan Sr. of Stockbridge, Georgia; daughter, Sherri Brown (Jerry) of Grayson, Georgia; son, Willie ‘Woody’ Woodrow Morgan, Jr. (Michelle) of McDonough, Georgia; sister, Betty Jean Boatwright ( Kenny) of Tampa, Florida; 5 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
