Mrs. Celia A. Sellers, 88, of Conyers passed away November 25, 2011. She was born in Culloden, GA, to Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Zachary Abercombie. Celia was a dedicated military wife for 56 years to the late SFC Gad Sellers, and lived in Japan, Atlanta and Ellenwood. She worked for the State of Georgia before retiring after 38 years, and enjoyed sewing, gardening and watching the Atlanta Braves on TV. She was preceded in death by her daughter Betty Jean Mitchell of Stockbridge, and son Walter Rex (Buster) Sellers of Ellenwood. Celia is survived by her daughter Celia Ann and Steve Jessup of Conyers; sister Dorothy Jackson of Russellville, AL, brother Junior Abercombie of Macon; grandchildren Angela and Michael Richardson of Stockbridge, Jake and Rachel Mitchell of Locust Grove, Andrew and Adrian Mitchell of McDonough, Shannon and Zane Martin of Locust Grove and Jessie Holmes. Celia enjoyed being around her 5 great-grandchildren Austin, Mikayla, Aubree, Ashlynn and Natalie. Funeral services will be conducted on Sunday, November 27, 2011, at 2 pm in the Fairview Chapel of Horis A. Ward with Jerry Mitchell officiating. Interment will follow in Fairview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. For those wishing to honor her memory with donations, the family suggest the Alzheimers' Association at alz.org.
