Carol E. Spriggs Tipton

Carol E. Tipton, 44 of McDonough and a 1984 graduate of Forest Park Senior High School, passed away on May 24,2010 after a long and courages 5 year battle with cancer. Carol was a devoted mother, homemaker, loved scrapbooking and was very involved in her daughters school activities and cheerleading with the City of McDonough youth league. Carol was a member of Salem Baptist Church in McDonough. Survivors include her husband Edward ( Chip ) Tipton, son Joshua N. Tipton, and daughter Jessica N. Tipton, her mother Jeannette ( Hal ) White of McDonough, GA, father Robert ( JAn ) Nielsen of Winnsboro LA. Carol also had 2 sisters, Cindy M. Burch of Jackson, GA and Tammy Jones of Winnsboro LA., along with 4 brothers Lester ( Tony ) Spriggs of Stockbridge GA, Bobby Nielsen, Neal Nielson and Scott Nielsen of Winnsboro LA along with numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 27 at 1:00 P.M. at Horis A. Ward Fairview Chapel with Rev. John Lanier , Rev. Roger Burdette,and Rev. Doug Drucker officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers Carol has requested that donations be made to Breast Cancer Awareness causes or the Henry County Chapter of Relay for Life, American Cancer Society.
