Beverly Carol Baggett was born on March 5, 1938 to the parents of Homer and Marie Hardin Baggett. She is survived by her sister, Betty; her brother, Wendell, and sister in law, Lynda; nieces, Cindy (& Joey), Tracy (& Tim), and Patty (& Roger); nephew, Chuck (& Laurie); great-nieces and nephews, Jason (& Sarah), Kristin (& James), Zachary, Luke, John, Kaila, & Cody; great-grandnephews and niece, Jackson, John, and Ella Marie. Carol was preceded in death by her father Homer, mother Marie, and sister Mae Marie.
Carol was a 26-year employee of General Motors. She also worked for the Georgia Motor Trucking Association and American Pharmaceutical.
Carol grew up at the Wee Kirk youth group in the Flat Shoals community. She was a member of Gresham Park Christian Church, where she faithfully served the Lord with her gifts and sweet spirit. In 1969, she became a member at Mt. Carmel Christian Church, where she taught the ladies Bible Class for 12 years. Carol was the president and spiritual leader of Dayspring, where she served until her health failed.
Carol touched many lives with her generous heart and genuine love for people. During her six-year battle with cancer, she continued to minister and serve those who God placed in her path. Carol’s spirit will live on in the many lives she touched. She lived a dedicated life in Christ and was a witness of her faith until her passing on February 21, 2015.
The memorial service will be held at Mount Carmel Christian Church in Stone Mountain Friday, February 27, 2015 at 2:00 pm. Visitation will be at Mount Carmel Christian Church prior to the service from 12:30 to 2:00 pm. Chuck Baggett and Joey Westbrook will be officiating the service. In lieu of flowers, gifts may be given to Woodland Christian Camp (90 Woodland Camp Road, Temple, GA 30179) and Dayspring (6015 Old Stone Mountain Rd, Stone Mountain, GA 30087). All gifts received by Woodland Christian Camp will be used to develop a memorial landscape/garden at the new Welcome Center in memory of Carol’s life and love for ministry and Woodland.
