Belva Bates, 87, of Stockbridge, GA passed away Sunday, October 31, 2010. Mrs. Bates was born in Pawnee City, NE to the late George & Ellen Scott. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 56 years John M. Bates in 2001. Mrs. Bates is survived by her son and daughter in-law George & Angie Bates of Stockbridge, GA; grandsons Dr. Christopher Bates of Augusta, GA, and Dr. Jeffrey Bates of Ocala, FL; great grandsons Jon Michael Bates, and Matthew Bates; sister Marilyn Brandt of Lincoln, NE. Funeral services will be held 1:30 PM Friday, November 5, 2010 at Ward’s Fairview Chapel with Pastor Jim Van Winkle officiating.
