She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ben Edward Groce; brothers and sisters-in-law, Glen (Jeanette), Stanton (Marie), Marvin (Marvene); son and daughter-in-law, Marvin F. (Betty) Groce; grandson, Tim Groce; granddaughter, LeeAnn Lanier; and son-in-law, Sammy Cox.
Azile is survived by son, Curtis E. (Edith) Groce of Jackson; daughter, Sandra M. (late Sammy) Cox of McDonough; sister-in-law, Hazel (late Marvin) Wright of Auburndale, FL; grandchildren, Dan Groce, Brian (Debbie) Groce, Cerise (late Tim) Groce, Jonathan Groce, John (late LeeAnn) Lanier, Kristin Osterhout, Nicholas Cox; great grandchildren, Kevin Groce, Ashley Cazares, Cameron Groce, Katie Barnett, Amber Todd, Jeremy Osterhout, Sammy Osterhout, Abbie Cox, and Kayleigh Cox; great-great grandchildren, Gage Groce, Zack Groce, Josh Groce, Hollan Groce, Nathan Barnett, Lydia Barnett, Isaac Barnett, and Karson Puckett; and several nieces and nephews.
Azile worked for Davison's, now Macy's, in Atlanta, GA. She retired from Winn Dixie as a deli manager. She enjoyed reading and traveling. She was Ben's "navigator." Azile visited all 50 states, Mexico, and Canada. She loved spending time with family and friends. She also enjoyed cooking and baking for the holidays. She always had a smile and encouraging words for everyone.
The world will be a little less bright due to her passing, but heaven will definitely shine brighter.
Family and friends are invited to gather for a visitation being held for Azile on Tuesday, May 21, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Horis A. Ward Funeral Home - Fairview Chapel | 376 Fairview Road Stockbridge, Georgia 30281. A celebration of her life will occur Wednesday, May 22, 2024 at 1:30 PM in Ward's Chapel. Services will conclude with a graveside committal at Fairview Memorial Gardens | 164 Fairview Road Stockbridge, Georgia 30281. Pastor Ken Davidson, officiating.
