Anna "Lois" Itson, revered as a pillar of strength, bravery, and unyielding positivity, passed away on December 05, 2024. Born on January 5, 1932, a daughter of the late Tom and Mary Lou Nesbit Hefner. She also preceded in death by her husband Emmett Edward Itson, and her brother Jack Hefner of Dalton GA. Lois was known for her warmth, generosity, and the undeniably loving spirit she brought into the world. A loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, Lois was a woman whose life was a testament to selflessness, kindness, and a deep commitment to the well-being of others.
Known to her family as Granny, Lois devoted her life to her family, creating a warm and loving home for all who entered. As a dedicated housewife, she found joy in caring for her loved ones, making her home a place of comfort, love, and peace. Her days were spent in service to those she cherished, always putting others' needs before her own. A gentle giant soul, Lois was known for her compassionate heart and her desire to help others in any way she could. Whether it was lending a hand to a neighbor or offering a listening ear, or providing a comforting meal, she never hesitated to extend her kindness.
Though she never wanted to have recognition or reward, Granny's quiet strength and unwavering dedication to her family and friends left an indelible mark on everyone she knew. Her love for her family was boundless, and she found her greatest joy in watching her loved ones thrive and succeed. Her selflessness and humble nature were an inspiration to all who were fortunate enough to know her.
Granny had an infectious spirit. Her smile could light up any room, and her laughter was a source of joy for everyone around her. Even in her later years, she continued to inspire others with her boundless energy and positive outlook on life.
She is survived by her three children, Belinda Shelnutt of McDonough, Karen Edwards of Locust Grove, and Scott Itson of McDonough, 6 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren, who were the center of her world. Her legacy of kindness, generosity, and love will live on in all who had the privilege of knowing her.
We will gather to remember the incredible impact she had on all who were blessed to call her part of their lives. A visitation for Anna will be held Tuesday, December 10, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Horis A. Ward - Fairview Chapel, 376 Fairview Rd, Stockbridge, Georgia 30281. A celebration of life will occur Tuesday, December 10, 2024 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, 376 Fairview Rd,
Stockbridge, Georgia 30281. An interment will occur Tuesday, December 10, 2024 at 1:00 PM at Fairview Memorial Gardens, 164 Fairview Road, Stockbridge, Georgia 30281.
