It is with bittersweet emotion that we announce that Patricia Huska, born December 3rd, passed into the arms of Jesus on October 6th, 2022 at age 87. She is survived by her children Tom (Patty), Mark (Mary), Steve (Susan), and Kathy (Carson) Hensley, and sister Maureen (Bud) Childs. Her loss will be felt by her grandchildren Matt (Liuan) Huska, Wendy Huska, Dan (Jaci) Huska, Phil (late Kristy) Munch, Nick (Britt) Munch, Adam Munch, Justin & Michael Huska, Jessica (Tony) Broches, Felicia (Brian) Chandler, and Kimberly Thomas. Her memory will be cherished by her great-grandchildren Oliver, Miles & Finlay Huska, Nathan Huska, Mason Munch, Loukas & Ella Broches, Melissa (Daniel) Wilson, Ashley Chandler, Gabrielle Rose, and great, great-grandchild Brian Wilson, remembered by her brother-in-law Bob (late Joan) Marcheschi and sister-in-law Jan (Phil) Kral, siblings, many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Pat was preceded in death by her husband Richard, sons Allen and Scott, parents, in-laws, siblings, and other beloved family & friends.
Pat will be remembered as a devoted, faithful, supportive wife and later caregiver to her husband Rich of 60+ years who she missed dearly these last 8 1/2 years. As a hard-working stay-at-home mom, her hands were full taking care of six children close in age, keeping up with their activities and shenanigans, making hearty dinners of meat and potatoes that raised the bar for future wives and appetites. She enjoyed hearing from and about her children & grandchildren whether it was a milestone moment, special achievement, or minutiae of their daily lives. Her love and concern was strong and unshakeable, always caring, always interested in what was going on (not always happy in choices or situations, sometimes very vocal and opinionated, but never turned away anyone who needed to vent). She was willing to listen, eager to share in every happiness as well as burdens and tears. She worried over her family's health, employment, marriages, finances, and salvation and prayed unceasingly for those she cared about. She was passionate about politics & the state of the country but most passionate about the Lord. Her legacy will be as a woman of faith.
Pat's strong will, independence, and stubbornness allowed her to endure many of her own personal struggles and health crisis later in life, not to mention the heartache of continuing on after losing her husband and sons. Her heart and body were failing and she grew increasingly weary but assurance of eternal life sustained her these last months. Pat knew that her pain would soon be over, her tears washed away, and it was that hope that remained with her in her final hours. With some of her last breaths she said, "thank you Jesus".
We are comforted knowing that Pat's pain was erased at that moment when she could finally rest in the arms of her Savior and be reunited with her husband and family. She would hope that her children would always seek the Lord and turn to him in these days of sadness and struggles, to open their Bibles, pray, and be reminded of His many promises. "He will wipe away every tear from their eyes and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning nor crying, nor pain for the former things have passed away. Rev. 21:4. "Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father's house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you?" John 14:1-4.
Pat believed that with all her heart. Fond memories will live on of her kindness, sense of humor, of all the childhood adventures, holidays and get togethers she was an integral part of. Her presence at the table and phone calls are just some of the things her family will miss. But we know we will see her again.
