Martha Gertrudis Estrada Felix Rojas, who loved to be called “Abuelita” by her grandchildren, departed her loving family on February 9, 2021.
Martha was born in Torreón, Coahuila, MX on May 10, 1948 to Carmen Rojas and Jose Isabel Felix.
Martha was mother to Steve (†) and Eduardo, Jr. She raised her children with love and devotion in Chicago with her husband Eduardo Estrada.
As an overworked and underpaid homemaker, Martha was known for her cooking, unconditional love and willingness to help those in need. She loved to spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Eduardo, son, Eduardo, Jr, grandchildren, Andrea, Eduardo, & Elena, & siblings, Carmen, Pati, Chacha, Nena & Pancho. Her family extended beyond her DNA. She was affectionately called mom, ma, Tita Martha, Doña Martha by neighbors and friends who came to know her over the years.
Visitation will be held at on February 21, 2021 from 10 to 2 at Mount Auburn Funeral/Cemetery, 4101 S. Oak Park Ave., Stickney, IL followed by the Funeral at 2.
