John R. Bielaga, age 71, of Oswego, Illinois, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 1st, 2025, after battling stage 4 cancer since 2021. John was born in Chicago, Illinois, on December 12th, 1953, and had worked at Home Run Inn Pizza for 53 and a half years.
John was the only child of the late Walter and Leona [nee Sierasynski] Bielaga. Devoted husband of the late Darlene [nee Kielminski] Bielaga. Beloved father of Jennifer Elia, the late Jaclyn Bielaga, and Jessica (Joe) Perez. John will be remembered by his cherished grandchildren, Enzo, Joe Jr., Andrew, and Maximiliano. Loving brother-in-law to the late Robert Jr. (Laura) Kielminski and Ralph (Carrie) Kielminski. Special Uncle to Joseph (Danika) and Katlyn (Anthony). Great-Uncle to River, Romy, and Baby K. Cherished Godfather to Erin. He was and will always be loved by many other family members, friends, and co-workers he's impacted over the years.
John served as a Corporal in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War Era. "Once a Marine, Always a Marine. Semper Fi! Oorah!".
A visitation for John will be held Friday, April 11th, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Mount Auburn Funeral Home, 4101 South Oak Park Ave, Stickney, IL 60402. A morning visitation will occur Saturday, April 12th, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Mount Auburn Funeral Home. A funeral service will take place at 12:00 pm. A graveside service with military honors will follow at Mount Auburn Cemetery, 4101 S Oak Park Ave, Stickney, IL 60402.
