Edward A. Hegner, 72, passed away peacefully on November 10, 2016. in Naples, FL. Beloved son of the late Edward and Louise Hegner (nee Micklautz); loving brother of Margaret (Lester) Murin and Tom (Kristine) Hegner; dearest uncle of Michael (Michelle) Murin, Dean (Cheryl) Murin, Michelle (Albert) Thennes, Daniel (Carol) Murin and Kristyn Hegner; Fond cousin of John (Dorothy) Klicka, Mary (Richard) Brown and Linda (Richard) DiLallo; devoted friend of Shirley and Colin Lateano and will be dearly missed by grandnephews, grandnieces and a multitude of relatives and friends. Ed will be remembered for his gregarious and generous nature, enthusiasm for life and for being a loyal friend who enriched the lives of those around him. He dedicated many years as a teacher in Cicero District 99 and then as a principal at Burnham School. Ed was a sports enthusiast, avid golfer and loved long walks in the woods with each of his dog companions.
A memorial to celebrate Ed’s life will take place on Saturday, December 3, 2016 with visitation from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and a memorial service to convene at 12:30 p.m. at Mount Auburn Funeral Home, 4101 S. Oak Park Avenue, Stickney, IL.
