Amalia Magaña Bravo, age 93 passed away on Monday, January 27, 2025, in Richland, Washington. Amalia was born on July 22, 1931, in Numaran, Michoacan, Mexico to her parents Jesus Magaña and Maria Teresa Ramirez. Amalia married her loving husband Rogelio Bravo on January 25, 1959. Beloved mother of Alejandro, Gerardo, Monica (Walter) Bravo-Werner and Jesus (Sylvia). Cherished grandmother of David Bravo, Nicholas Bravo, Andy Bravo, Isabel Werner, Diana Werner, Angelo Bravo and Santino Bravo. Dear sister of Elena, Lourdes, Ana Maria, Teresa, Hilda, Laura, Javier, Rodolfo, and the late Mercedes.
Amalia was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and mother-in-law who dedicated her life to her family. Her faith in God was strong and unwavering. She prayed for everybody and appreciated it when someone prayed for her. She was humble, soft-spoken and kind to all. She enjoyed travelling and visiting family in Mexico, Germany, Arizona and Washington. She loved spending time with all her grandchildren. She also loved cooking, knitting and crocheting and made carpetas and sweaters for many. She enjoyed the occasional game of Chinese checkers and really loved her pan dulce, especially a fresh concha with her coffee.
A visitation for Amalia will be held Friday, February 14, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Mount Auburn Funeral Home, 4101 South Oak Park Ave, Stickney, IL 60402. Family and friends will gather at Mount Auburn Funeral Home on Saturday, February 15, 2025, at 9:30 am for chapel prayers and follow in procession to Our Lady of Charity Catholic Church, 3600 S 57th Ct, Cicero, IL 60804 for 11:00 am mass. Burial at Mount Auburn Memorial Park, Stickney, IL immediately after mass.
