A celebration of life service will be held at 1:00pm, Saturday, 19 November 2016 at Healy Hall Auditorium on the campus of Virginia School for the Deaf and Blind, 104 VSDB Drive, Staunton, VA, 24402. There will be a reception and corn hole games after the service. Please wear earthy tone semi-casual. In lieu of flowers and memorials may be made to Tammy L. Waddell for their children’s college fund. Please be sure to add a memo, titled, College Fund. Tammy and Tracy opened an account for their children’s college fund recently.
Tracy was born 22 June 1965 in Martinsville, Virginia to Kay W. Barbour and Conley E. Waddell. He went to Virginia School for the Deaf and Blind. He graduated on the year of 1985. He attended Gallaudet University for two years and half. He was on Gallaudet University’s football team. During his last year at Gallaudet University, he and his team set a new winning record. He represented the uniform number 66 very well. He married the love of his life, Tammy L. Waddell, on 23 May 1992 in Fieldale, Virginia. He and his wife had two children and adopted a child.
Tracy worked at his alma mater, VSDB, from 1994 to 2002 and then 2012 to 2016. He worked at Kansas School for the Deaf from 2004 to 2009. He worked at Johnson County Mental Health Center in Olathe, Kansas from 2009 to 2012. He worked at Staunton Post Office from 2014 to 2016. He enjoyed sports and played on softball and bowling leagues. Few years ago, he hit a perfect game for bowling. In addition to sports, he loved to hunt and fish, especially with his son, Travis. Recently, he received a hall of the fame reward for his achievements in football and track during his years at VSDB.
Tracy is survived by his wife, Tammy L. Waddell; two daughters and a son, Trisha L. Waddell, Travis L. Waddell, and Tasha E. Waddell; two brothers, Dennis Waddell, wife Constance, and their children, Ashleigh, Alexis, Hannah, and Hunter; and Tim Burgess; mother and 2nd father, Kay and Don Barbour; his father and 2nd mother, Conley and Janet Waddell; grandmother Katherine M. Seay; and mother-in-law, Donna Keeter.
Tracy is preceded in death by his father-in-law, Gary L. Haden; grandfathers, Henry D. Williams, Paul Waddell, Toney L. Seay, and J.P. Barbour; grandmothers, Nannie Waddell and Marie D. Barbour; and uncle, Jeff Williams.
