STAUNTON — Guy “Bubba” Blackwood Parrish III of Staunton passed away Wednesday morning, Aug. 8, 2012, at Augusta Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. He was born June 18, 1953, in Staunton, son of Joyce Nulty Parrish Wolfenbarger and the late Guy Blackwood Parrish Jr.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a sister, Brenda P. Moore, and his stepmother, Doris Parrish.
Bubba was a member of First Church of the Nazarene and was a certified coach of the YABA Bowling League and the ABC Bowling Congress. He also was a member of the Verona Moose and Staunton Eagles.
Survivors include his mother, Joyce Walfenbarger of Staunton; two daughters, Wendy Little and husband, William, of Churchville and Allyson Nicole Parrish of Waynesboro; two grandchildren, Anna Josephine Little and William Worthington Little III; two sisters, Pamela Diaz of Staunton and Beth Fridley of Mint Spring; one brother, Charles “Chuck” M. Parrish of Staunton; nieces and nephews, Sean Trimble, Tyler and Taylor Parrish and Hanna and Colin Parrish; one great-niece, Hallie Lawson; and his buddy, Ralph Prater.
The family will receive friends from
7 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 12, 2012, at Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes of Staunton and at other times at the residence of his mother at 516 Ritchie Blvd., Staunton.
A memorial service will be conducted at
3 p.m. Monday, Aug. 13, 2012, at the Staunton Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Home.
