Rose Elizabeth Morrison Grim, 98, formerly of Staunton, passed away at the Bridgewater Nursing Home on October 26, 2013.
She was born in Washington, D.C. on February 12, 1915, a daughter of the late Carol King and Rose Sherwood Morrison.
Before moving to Bridgewater, she was an active member of Central United Methodist Church and a longtime member of the Wesley Fellowship Class, United Methodist Women, and chairman of the Altar Committee. She was a member of the United Order of Kings Daughters and Sons, and was bookkeeper in her husband’s business, Frank Grim and Sons of Staunton.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, William H. Grim; three brothers, William L. Morrison, Carol K. Morrison, Jr., Dr. Robert L. Morrison, and a sister, Ruth M. Stogdale.
Survivors include two daughters and sons-in law, Bettie (Stuart) Layman of Gainesville, Va.; Ruth( Russell) Bauda of West Seneca, N.Y.; five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, one sister, Virginia Morrison Wetzel, a brother and two sister-in-laws, James S. and Clementine G. Morrison of Staunton, and Marion Morrison of Lynchburg; fifteen nieces and nephews.
A service of celebration will be held at Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Home on Saturday, November 2 at 1:30 p.m. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, November 1st at the funeral home. Burial will be private.
