Barry Lawrence Turner

Barry was born in Roanoke, VA to Hilda (Wilkes) Turner and Herbert L. Turner on October 6th, 1944. He grew up and went to school in Roanoke, before moving to the Staunton area, where he has lived for the last 60 years. Barry owned his own home improvement company, and worked in contacting sales for over 20 years before retiring. In his spare time, Barry enjoyed shooting pistol and rifle, as well as hunting.

In addition to his parents, Barry was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 55 years, Betty Turner.

Barry is survived by his sons, Sean Turner of Sioux Falls, SD and Erik Turner of Mt. Solon, VA. In addition, he is survived by his brothers, Randall Turner and Douglas Turner, as well as his sister, Denise Hawkins. Barry is also survived by his nieces and nephews, Kara Hawkins, Trevor Hawkins, Shannon Turner and Jaime Thomas; as well as his sisters-in-law, Beverly Wise and Rosalie Koontz.

Following cremation, a graveside gathering will be held on Friday, March 14th, 2025 at 1:00 PM at Sherwood Memorial Park in Salem, VA.
