Mr. William Kenneth Harp, 69, of 288 Massey Deal Rd. Statesville, died Tuesday, March 13, 2012 at Iredell Memorial Hospital. Born in Chesterfield County, S.C. on June 9, 1942, he was a son of the late Grover Anson Harp and Wilma Crowley Harp. He was retired from the U. S. Army and was a retired electrician in the textile industry. He was a member of Eufola Baptist Church and enjoyed gardening, fishing, playing checkers and dearly loved his grandchildren. On October 30, 1966 he married the late Lucy Ray Harp who died on June 20, 2006. Survivors include two daughters, Tonda Lowman and her husband, Shannon and Tammy Carter and her husband, Scott all of Statesville, four grandchildren: Alena Lynn Carter, Haley Brianna Carter, Austin Scott Carter and Emily Mae Lowman. Also surviving are three brothers, Floyd, Harold and Olin Harp and a sister, Mrs. Willie Johnson all of Statesville. Services celebrating Mr. Harp's life will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Friday at Eufola Baptist Church with Rev. Otis Johnson, Jr. officiating. He will lie in state at the church for thirty minutes prior to the service and burial will follow at Iredell Memorial Gardens. Full Military Rites will be presented by the Iredell County Veterans Burial Detail. Pallbearers will be: Tom Anderson, Tony Wilcox, DaleJohnson, Darren Johnson, Ray Lowman and Ethan Dowdle. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. at Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home.
