Tommy Ray Ballard

Born in Wilkes County, North Carolina on February 24, 1941, he was the son of the late Asbury Ballard and Gertie Burgett Ballard.

Mr. Ballard was a heavy equipment operator in construction for many years. He served in the United States Army and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church where he helped with the Bus Ministry.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by three brothers, Pete Ballard, Bobby Ballard and Harvey Ballard.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Glenda Jones Ballard; four children, Teresa (Frank) Hall of Statesville, Mark Ballard of Catawba, Mandy (Anthony) Weston of Statesville and Ray (Brandy) Ballard, Jr. of Taylorsville; six grandchildren, Alex Hall, Kenzie Hall, Rayna Hall, Elizabeth Weston, Zachary Weston and Shannon Weston.

He is further survived by his sisters and brothers, Peggy Griffith, Freddie Ballard, Roger Ballard, Asalee Whisnant and Tracy Ballard.

The family will receive friends Friday, December 16, 2016 from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM at Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home.

The funeral service celebrating Tommy’s life will be conducted Saturday, December 17, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Calvary Baptist Church with Dr. Rev. Chris Hazlip and Rev. Dermont Crabtree officiating. Burial will follow at Iredell Memorial Gardens.
