

Mr. Thomas James White, 76, of 517 Stinson Ct. Statesville, died Monday, March 19, 2012 at Iredell Memorial Hospital. Born in Caldwell County on August 23, 1935, he was a son of the late Jesse Newton White and Alma Parker White. He served in the U. S. Army and was a retired contractor. He was a graduate of Lenoir Rhyne University and was an avid golfer having shot his age this past year and having had two holes in one. He also played the stock market by day trading and was an awesome grandfather and husband.
Surviving are his wife, Jackie Powers White, a son, Michael White and his wife, Karen of Mt. Holly , a daughter, Melinda Manning of Statesville, two grandchildren, Logan and Lindsey Manning and five sisters: Mrs. Shirley Bristol (George) of Morganton, Mrs. Carolyn Bolick (Floyd) of Hickory, Mrs. Linda Hawkins (Grady) of Lenoir, Mrs. Louise Pegram of Hickory and Mrs. Judy Summerlin of Mt. Olive.
Services celebrating Mr. White's life are scheduled for 7:00 P.M. Wednesday evening at the Westmoreland Chapel of Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home with Rev. Amber Harris officiating. The family will speak with friends immediately following the service. Private burial will take place at Iredell Memorial Gardens. The family will be assembled at the residence at other times.
