Teresa Raye Harris Baity

She was born March 8, 1944, in Iredell County and was the daughter of Helen Cashion Harris and the late Ray Harris. She retired from Rental Uniform Service and was a member of Temple Baptist Church. She loved to fish and enjoyed going to the beach where she would collect sea shells and shark teeth along the beach. She also enjoyed drawing and singing gospel hymns.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by two sons, Michael and Steven Baity; three sisters; and a brother.

She is survived by her husband, Cecil Baity, whom she married on June 24, 1967; a daughter, Tamara Taylor (David) of Mocksville; her mother, Helen Cashion Harris, of Statesville; two grandsons, Donald “D” Young and Dyllan Young, both of Harmony; two great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Barbara Daniels (Frank) of Charlotte and Ann Woody (Bobby) of Columbia, SC.

Funeral services celebrating Teresa’s life will be held at 11:30 AM Wednesday, June 13, 2012, at Temple Baptist Church (205 Museum Road, Statesville) with Pastors Randy Mitchell and J.C. Parks officiating.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 at 11:00 AM Wednesday at the church prior to the service.

Burial will follow at Calvary Baptist Church Cemetery in Union Grove.
