Stanley Lentz Gibson

Stanley Lentz Gibson, 66, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2013, in Charlotte. He was born May 16, 1947, in Statesville. He was the son of the late Walter Stanley Gibson and Doris Lentz Gibson. He is survived by his two sisters, Lois Lynda Gibson Golden, of Pacifica, Calif. and Carol Gibson Davis, of San Rafael, Calif.; his niece, Rebecca Love Ringler and his great-niece, Alyssa Love Ringler, both of San Diego, Calif. Stan had the gift of gab and expressed himself with intelligence and sharp wit. He soaked up information and had a remarkable memory. He had entrepreneurial talents and an avid interest in sports, history and current events. He will be missed. A memorial service celebrating Stan's life will be held Wednesday, Oct. 2, at 4 p.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church on Salisbury Road. Following the service, refreshments will be served in the Fellowship Hall. A private burial will be in Iredell Memorial Gardens. Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home is handling the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made the charity of the donor's choice.
