Shirley Bustle Martin

Mrs. Shirley Bustle Martin, 76, of 123 Bostian Lake Rd., Statesville, died unexpectedly at her home on Friday, May 23rd. Born in Iredell County on January 13, 1938, she was a daughter of the late Coite Lee Bustle and Nola Ida James Bustle. Mrs. Martin was the owner/operator of Bostian Heights Beauty Shop and was a beautician for 40 years. She was also a C.N.A. and part time caregiver. She loved her customers and her church, Shiloh Presbyterian Church where she was a longtime member. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant sister, Dorothy Bustle. On May 10, 1958, she married Mr. George P. Martin who died on November 1, 2010.

Survivors include a son, Randy Lee Martin and his wife, Karen of Stony Point, a daughter, Mrs. Lisa Miller and her husband, Kenny, of Statesville, a brother, Jerry Bustle and his wife, Mary and their daughter, Elizabeth, of Statesville and two step grandchildren: Jonathan Miller (Jessica) and Angela Spaugh (Brian).

Services celebrating Mrs. Martin's life will be conducted at 2:00 Monday, May 26th at the Westmoreland Chapel of Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home with Rev. Henry Cook officiating. Burial will follow in the Shiloh Presbyterian Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Buck Gatton, Benjy Danner, David Holcomb, Keith Windsor, Phillip Howard and Eric Clodfelter.

The family will be assembled at the residence of the deceased and will receive friends from 7:00 until 9:00 P.M. Sunday evening at Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home.
