Michael Robert Amodio, 55, of Hiddenite, passed away on May 9, 2023, at Iredell Memorial Hospital in Statesville, NC. He is a native of Lexington, SC., and the son of Robert Jeffery and Betty A. Amodio.
He is survived by and the father of Wayne (wife Rex) of Baton Rouge, LA., and Amber Amodio of Johnsonville, SC. His siblings are his brothers Tony Amodio (wife Jan) of Honolulu, HA., Bryan Amodio (wife Lora) of Lexington, SC., and his sister is Mary Wilks (fiancé Josh) of Lexington, SC.
Mike was a fantastic father, who loved his family, and all his nieces, and nephews, which are many. Mike was an award-winning salesman for Verizon, among several other organizations. He was raised in Lexington, SC., where he graduated from Lexington High School in 1985. He then served in the United States Marine Corps (Semper Fi). He resided in Lexington SC., Johnsonville, SC., and Georgetown, SC. He has recently lived in Hiddenite, NC. He enjoyed so much. He really loved the beach and loved sitting on the beach with his children. He joked so much with his friends and family and made us all laugh. He loved karaoke. He played Dominos and Scrabble; He cared deeply for his parents and helped them often at their home. He was an incredible brother, father, cousin, and friend, and he leaves behind a tremendous number of fond memories from those who knew him. He will truly be missed, and he is truly loved. Mike loved to sing a song by B.E. King, “Stand by Me.” We see it as a tribute to Mike. The song’s words speak true of Mike’s character, his personality, and his devotion to his family. When you hear this song remember Mike. He has stood by us, and he is standing by us still, and he will always stand with us.
“He was a man, a father, a friend, and a son that would show no fear when the sky would tumble and fall, or whenever the crumbling mountains fall into the sea, he will forever stand by us.” – Wayne & Amber
Celebration of Life will be held on July 29, 2023, at the Oak Grove Civic Club, located at 585 Oak Drive in Lexington, SC, beginning at 1:00 PM.
