Mrs. Mary Emma Weaver McIntosh Howard, 85, of Statesville, died January 13th at Iredell Memorial Hospital. Born in Iredell County on May 1, 1928, she was a daughter of the late William Weaver and Ola Mae McDowell Weaver. She was a retired C.N.A. and a member of Highland Acres Church Of Christ. She enjoyed attending activities at the Iredell Senior Center, the Red Hat Society and the Jolly Seniors Group at Temple Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by two husbands, Mr. Walter McIntosh, Sr. and Mr. William Howard and a son, Walter McIntosh, Jr. along with brothers, George, William, Robert, Garland and Charles Howard and a sister, Virginia Simonton.
She is survived by a son, Joseph McIntosh and his wife, Carolyn of Cleveland, Ohio, four grandchildren: Mary, Michael, Michelle and Kim, three great grandchildren: Jada, Dawez and Maggie and her best friend, Maxine Rutledge. Also surviving are special nephews: Avon, Stanley and Robert Weaver, a special niece, Betty Simonton and a special friend, Sheryl C.
Services celebrating Mrs. Howard's life will be conducted at 7:00 P.M. Friday (this evening) at the Westmoreland Chapel of Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home with her pastor, Mr. Al Simmons officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
