Born March 9, 1935, she was the daughter of the late James Owen and Lucy Black Woodside. Mary Lou worked at Hunter Manufacturing for 28 years. She was a member of Lighthouse Independent Methodist Church, where she was very active, a member of the choir and was the church secretary for 30 years. Mary Lou also enjoyed reading and baking.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Paul Campbell who she married on April 7, 1951. She is also preceded in death by her five brothers, Ray, John Brite, Cathey, Lathan and James Aaron Woodside.
She is survived by her two sons, Rick (Peggy) Campbell of Troutman and Tony (Carol) Campbell of Harmony; three grandchildren, Anthony (Anastasia) Campbell, Sara (Adrian) Lineberger and Megan (Monas) Papadakis; six great-grandchildren, Lydia, Anya, Kira, Paul, Campbell Grace and Drake Owen; sister, Dorothy (Fred) Deacon and many other loving family members.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, October 29, 2018 at 11am at Oakwood Cemetery in Statesville with Rev. Mike Kilpatrick officiating.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Lighthouse Independent Methodist Church, 769 Scotts Creek Road, Statesville, North Carolina 28625.
