Born in St. Lawrence County, New York on August 18, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Delbert McCarthy and Doris Etta Selleck McCarthy.
Mrs. Bannister worked as a Nursing Assistant at Iredell Memorial Hospital for several years.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harris Keith Bannister and one son, Alexander Craig Bannister.
Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Steven Earl Douglas of Statesville, Tania Ann Miller of Slidell, LA and Phillip James Bannister of Ocala, FL; and one granddaughter, Lauren Gable.
Services will be private at a later date.
