Martha Davis Schulte

She was born on Friday, January 28, 1938, in Twin City, GA, and was the daughter of the late Jeff and Irene Davis. On October 13, 1972, she married her best friend, Vern Schulte, and they shared 39 happy years together making Iredell County their “home” town. Martha graduated from Emanuel County Institute in 1956 and held a variety of jobs until coming to Lake Norman Security as a dispatcher in 1991 where she worked nearly 15 years before retiring. She was a member of Oakdale Baptist Church in Statesville.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.

Martha is survived by her husband, Vern Schulte; a son, Jason Schulte and his wife, Maria, of Mooresville; two brothers, Bill Davis and his wife, Ruth, of Lewiston, MI, and Elmer Davis of Armada, MI; a sister, Betty Wethy of Troutman; and her adopted daughter, Nosey Rosey, the cat with no tail; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services celebrating Martha’s life will be held at 4:00 PM Saturday, May 12, 2012, in the Westmoreland Chapel of Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home with the Rev. David Knapp of Oakdale Baptist Church officiating. Private burial will take place at Oakwood Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Friday, May 11, 2012, at Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home.
