She was born August 18, 1923, in Iredell County and was the daughter of the late James M. and Lena Hoke Goble. She was a faithful homemaker and a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church. She enjoyed playing cards, especially canasta, and traveling with her husband.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Chelcie W. Karn, whom she married on February 14, 1941; a sister, Lucille Reese; and a brother, Vance Goble.
She is survived by a son, Richard A. (Rita) Karn of Statesville; a sister, Lorene Ramsey of Statesville; a brother, James Ray (Judy) Goble of Charlotte; two grandchildren, Tristam (Dustin) Karn-Andecover and Kevin M. Karn, both of Fremont, Ohio; five great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral service celebrating Lois’ life will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, February 6, 2015, at St. John’s Lutheran Church with Pastor Ernie Sheldon officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery.
The family will receive friends in the church parlor from 10:00 to 11:00 AM Friday prior to the service.
