Linda Sue Sherrill Smith, 71, of Statesville, passed away Saturday, Sept. 21, 2019, at her residence. A native of Iredell County, she was the daughter of the late Russell Holt Sherrill and Carrie Bell Kerley Sherrill.
Mrs. Smith is survived by her sons, David Dwayne Smith of Charlotte, J.T. Smith (Jennifer Weldy-Smith) of Mooresville; two brothers, Johnny and Garry Sherrill, both of Troutman; a sister, Judy Speight of Statesville; seven grandchildren, Heather McMullen, Jessica Varner, Bryan Smith, Dixie Newman, Hartman Gray Smith, Mitchell Thomas Smith, Russell Harrison Smith; and two great-grandchildren, Kaylee McMullen and Jude Varner.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, Sept. 25, from 6 to 8 p.m., at Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held Thursday, Sept. 26, at 2 p.m., at Fifth Creek Presbyterian Church, with Pastor Mitchell Rash officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
