Larry Wayne Woods Sr.

Born on January 30, 1950, he was the son of the late Roy Jacob Woods and Faye Sherrill Woods. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Scott Bradley Woods.

Larry worked at Old Dominion Freight Lines for over 36 years before his retirement. In his free time, he loved fishing and always enjoyed going to the beach. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family and friends.

Those left to cherish his memory include his beloved wife of 50 years, Ilar T. Woods of the home; three sons, Larry Wayne Woods Jr., (Beverly) of Myrtle Beach SC; Michael Todd Woods (Beth) of Statesville and Tracy Scott Woods (Kim) of Statesville; grandchildren, Sam Woods, Michael Todd Woods II, Gage Lukas Woods, Savannah Grace Woods, Grayson Scott Woods, and Easton Cole Woods; sister; Linda (James) Peacock of Statesville; brother Gary Woods of Statesville, numerous nieces and nephews, and special friends, Frankie Kelly and Michael “Skike” Gregory.

The family will receive friends Friday, March 29, 2019 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 30, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ervel Jones officiating. Burial will immediately follow the service at Beulah Church Cemetery.
