Larry Neil Harris Sr.

Mr. Larry Neil Harris, Sr., 66, of 117 Gemstone Dr. Statesville, died Monday, December 31, 2012 at Iredell Memorial Hospital. Born in Iredell County on October 1, 1946, he was a son of the late Charles Grady Harris and Velma Summers Harris. Larry was an electrician and a member of Monticello Baptist Church. He took care of maintenance at the church and enjoyed his work, wood working, golf and watching westerns and wrestling on tv. He served in the U. S. Army in the Viet Nam War.

Survivors include his wife, Patsy Perry Goforth Harris of the home, two sons, Larry Neil Harris, Jr. (Susan) of Statesville and Patrick Noel Harris of Winston-Salem, two daughters, Susan Belanger (Paul) and Sandra Holman both of Statesville. Also surviving are a brother, Charles Junior Harris and a sister, Inez Elkins both of Statesville along with six grandchildren.

Services celebrating Mr. Harris' life will be conducted at 11:00 Friday January 4, 2013 at Monticello Baptist Church with Rev. Bobby Henderson officiating. He will lie in state at the church for one hour prior to the service while the family receives friends. Pallbearers will be: Larry Harris, Jr., Patrick Harris, Joey Bruce, Jesse Holman, Jacob Holman and Paul Belanger. Military Rites wll be presented immediately following the service at the church by the Iredell County Veterans Council Burial Detail. Burial will take place at a later date at the National Cemetery in Salisbury. The family will be assembled at the home.
