Mr. Kenneth Darrell Matney, 68, of Statesville, passed away at Novant Presbyterian-Main in Charlotte on Friday, July 2, 2021. A native of Buchanon County, Virginia, he was the son of the late Albert Ervin and Effie Rosalie Van Dyke Matney. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters.
Mr. Matney is survived by his wife of 15 years, Amy Matney; by daughters, Kendra Leigh Matney (James) of Stony Point, Kayla Loftis Holestin (Ricky) of Olin, Amanda Brooke Loftis (Dakota) of Statesville, and Jessica Elizabeth Loftis of Troutman.; by a brother, Zed Lewis Matney (Kathy) of Statesville; by sisters, Jeraline Roberts (King) of Garden City, SC and Wanda Ball (Bobby) of Troutman; by ten grandchildren; by his mother and father-in-law, Russell and Nancy Hutchison of Statesville; by his sister-in-law, Karen Lowe of Cleveland; and by fifteen nephews and nieces.
The family will receive friends at Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 7, 2021 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM. A funeral will be held in the Chapel of Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home on Thursday, July 8, 2021 at 1:00 PM. Interment will follow at Iredell Memorial Gardens.
