Born on September 15, 1950 in Monroe NC, she was the daughter of the late Roy Gardner and Alma Lowe Gardner. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Jimmy Gardner, Earl Gardner, William York, and Frank York.
Kathryn spent most of her career as a loan manager for various banks and for Southland Log Homes. She was very friendly, a people-person, and enjoyed cooking for others. She would even cater special events for companies. She was famously known for her country ham biscuits. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 20 years, Carl Thomas McFarland; sons, Scott (Sandy) McFarland, Todd (Linsey) McFarland, Jared (Candice) McFarland, Robert Hinson Jr; daughters, Ronda (Mike) Jusino and Karie (Marvin) Kiser; a twin sister, Carolyn (John) Capps; sisters, Wanda (Daryl) Russ, Mary Davis and Martha Gwaltney; fourteen grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
A visitation will be held on Friday, August 2, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life service will immediately follow in the chapel, beginning at 3:00 p.m. with Rev. Jonathon Sherrill officiating.
