Judy Eller Wood, 75, of North Wilkesboro, N.C., went to meet her Heavenly Father on Sunday, June 11, 2023. Judy was born on January 20, 1948, to the late Blake and Esther Hayes Eller, in Wilkes County, N.C.
Judy is preceded in death by her parents and spouse, Reverend Talmadge M. Wood.
Judy is survived by her children, Cindy Wood (Carl) Sparwasser, Adam (Michelle) Wood, Andrew Wood and wife, Adrienne Hall-Wood; grandchildren, Jared (Kimberli) Sparwasser, Austen "A.J" (Micala) Sparwasser, Isaiah, Gracie, Lucas, Jonathan, and Daisy Hall-Wood; great grandchildren, Dylin Barlowe, Joseph Barlowe, Eva Sparwasser, Ellie Sparwasser, Charlotte Lee; sisters, Debra (Michael) Woodruff, Kathy (Larry) Billings; sister in law, Evelyn Horton, and several nieces and nephews.
Judy grew up with two sisters, Kathy Billings and Debra Woodruff. For over 50 years these ladies blessed thousands of hearts with praising our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ in song. Their heart for God and music was so evident in the passion they had to share with any and all who would listen.
Mama Judy loved God, and she loved others, especially her husband, Talmadge Wood of almost 50 years, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, sisters, extended family, and beyond. She truly lived out the greatest commandment to love God and love her neighbor! She also loved singing and playing piano for the Lord! She had a way of remembering song after song from memory while singing and playing. It truly was a talent that God had given her that she only ever wanted to use for Him.
Judy was a long time member of Mountain View Baptist Church, and a new member of SONcrest Outreach Church.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 14, 2023, from 11am-1pm, at SONcrest Outreach Church, with a funeral service to follow beginning at 1pm, with son and Pastor Adam Wood, Brother Scotty Roten, and Reverend Julius Blevins officiating. Burial will follow at Mountain View Baptist Church Cemetery.
Flowers or donations in Judy's honor may be made to SONcrest Outreach Church Building Fund, or Mountain View Baptist Church Cemetery Fund.
