Jeanne was an active member in the church community. Beginning in childhood, she served as a church organist for over fifty years, as well as choir director for many of those years. She loved music, taking advanced studies in classical organ and teaching hundreds of children to play the piano and to love music as much as she did. Jeanne served as the Activities Director at Tyson Manor Nursing Home in Montgomery, Alabama for many years, a skill which she brought to Brookdale Churchill in Mooresville, NC, which the staff made good use of when Jeanne came there to live out her remaining years. Jeanne was a skilled seamstress, creating many outfits for herself and for her family, a skill she honed as a milliner as a young woman in Rochester. She also loved animals and always had a cat in her life.
The family wishes to acknowledge the staff in the Memory Care unit at Brookdale Churchill in Mooresville, NC and the end of life help given by Catawba Regional Hospice for their care of Jeanne. The family is planning a private memorial at a date to be determined.
