Born on September 19, 1936 in Iredell County, he was the son to the late Cecil and Willie Bolick Miller. Jack enjoyed hunting, fishing and being in the great outdoors. He loved spending time with his family, friends and extended friends of Hobgood Hunt Club.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by brother, Bill Miller; sister, Peg Fulbright; son-in-law, Michael Bowman and longtime special friend, Linda Church.
He is survived by his children, Phillip (Karin) Miller and Debra Bowman; sister, Aileen Bolick; brother, Tony (Jayne) Miller; special niece (almost daughter), Judy Kirksey; a host of other nieces and nephews; mother of his children, Betty Poovey; Linda's family; close friends, Dale Morrow and Cecil "Sonny" Shook and his fur companion, Belle.
The family will gather and receive friends from 1-3pm on Saturday, March 10, 2018 at Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home in Statesville.
