Georgia Lou Benfield Dellinger, 84, of Statesville passed away at her residence surrounded by her loving family on March 29, 2017. She was born in Wilkes County to James Monroe Benfield and Bertha Higgins Benfield.
Mrs. Dellinger was a charter member of Monticello Baptist Church.
She was a loving mother to 5 boys. She enjoyed gardening, canning, cooking, and quilting.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Eugene Dellinger; 5 brothers and 3 sisters.
Those left to cherish her memory include sons, Douglas (Cindy) Dellinger, Randy (Kathy) Dellinger, Ricky (Doris) Dellinger, Eddie (Ginger) Dellinger, and Sidney (Marcia) Dellinger; sister, Betty (Pete) Perdue; 8 grandchildren, Andrew Dellinger, Ryan Dellinger, Matthew (Cheryl) Dellinger, Crissy (Cary) Shook, Chad (Shelly) Dellinger, Cody Dellinger, Aspen Dellinger, and Zacary Dellinger; 8 great grandchildren, Chantz Shook, Cassidy Shook, Carrigan Shook, Samuel Dellinger, Hunter Dellinger, Morgan Dellinger, Gus Dellinger, Bellamy Dellinger, Kayleigh Dellinger, and Chase Dellinger; In-laws, Rev. Fred (Nancy) Shoemaker, Rev. Joe (Louise) Dellinger, and Brenda Grant.
A Celebration of her life will be Saturday, April 1, 2017, 2:00 pm, at Monticello Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 12:30 pm- 2:00 pm prior to the service. Interment at Iredell Memorial Gardens following service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Hospice & Palliative Care of Iredell County or Monticello Baptist Church.
The family would like to say thank you to caregivers, Marji Massey, Wanda Leviner, Brandi Keene, and Donna Johnson for all the love and support given to their mother during her illness.
