just found out today 8th of December , for many years Gary was like a brother to me ,had not seen him in many years but did think of him often I spent lots of time at the farm where he was raised .So sorry the loss heaven gained a great man and the loss is ours but no doubt we will see him again perhaps he will be there to welcome us all home someday. My condolences to the entire family. I was shocked to hear of this today, and it is hard to believe we are without another amazing human being. I got the pleasure to meet Gary and work with him in West Virginia. He was a GREAT man and devoted his life to the Lord, attending church on a regular basis even while being away from home. We talked a little one day and he even tried to persuade me to go more often. I NEVER heard him say one bad thing. We all teased him and gave him a rough time at work, and nothing ever bothered him, he was fun to be around. Doubt if you remember me, but I got to meet you Mary when you was up visiting a few days and I ran into you and Gary at WalMart. I know its hard, but Gary is in a beautiful place now. He will be greatly missed by all of us.  You will be in my thoughts and prayers. GOD BLESS THE FAMILY.

Gary passed away much too young, after too much suffering from cancer, but as they say, the good die young. My sincere condolences as a cousin to his immediate family, his mother Susie, and his siblings. I hope he is in a better place with so many of our relatives that have departed this earth.

I am just learning about Gary's passing. My heart goes out to all of you. I remember when my dad, Bernard Simmons, would take us to Ken and Susie's. My sister, brothers and I always enjoyed our time spent there. Although I've lived far away for many years I always feel the connection between us. I am so very sorry for your loss. I will always remember Gary as a kind and gentle soul.

We grew up in the same community (Paintlick, VA) with Gary. Jerry worked with Gary at Simmons-Rand/Long Airdox. We have great memories of Gary which we will forever cherish.  Our most fond memory of Gary is his shy but infectious smile and loyal friendship. He will be missed by all of us who knew him here on earth, but we are sure that Heaven is rejoicing that Gary has come home.  May God Bless Gary's wife, children, grandchildren, mother, brother, sister, and friends with strength to endure the grief they feel today and the knowledge that we will all be together again someday, where we will be greeted again with that shy smile.

To the Simmons family, We will always keep Gray in our memories and I know he and God are dancing with joy.
