Edd Ray Stroud, 85 years old of Statesville passed away on February 2, 2017. Ed was born February 14, 1931 to the late Robert and Ninner Stroud and was a lifelong resident of Statesville. He attended Celeste Henkel High School, was a member of Beulah Baptist Church and retired from Melvill Textile after many years of working there.
He was predeceased by his wife, Irene Goble Stroud; his brothers, James, Cecil, Herman, Gerald and Larry; and his sisters, Thelma Swicegood and Ellen Smith.
He is survived by his brother, Kenneth Stroud and his wife Ann of Statesville and many nieces and nephews.
Edd will be laid to rest at Beulah Baptist Church Cemetery during a private graveside service officiated by the Rev. Jonny Bolin.
