Mrs. Dora Claire Lamoureux, 84, of Statesville, passed away on April 25, 2018 at Gordon Hospice House in Statesville. A native of Providence, Rhode Island, she was the daughter of the late John Ross and Palmyre Poulin. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, CDR George J. Lamoureux, USN-Retired.
Survivors include three sons and six daughters: George J. Lamoureux, Jr. and wife Diane of Statesville; Michael J. Lamoureux of Statesville; Carl J. Lamoureux and wife Eily of Oregon; Gloria L. Boone and husband Glenn of Statesville; Donna M. Hames and husband Roger of Statesville; Catherine A. Brousseau of Massachusetts; Cynthia M. Joy and husband Bill of Florida; Michelle M. Miller and husband Scott of Rhode Island; and Carolyn A. Herbert and husband Jerry of Rhode Island. Also surviving her are two sisters, Palmyre Letourneau of Connecticut and Gloria Hope Aznavoorian and husband Vartan of Florida. Twenty-five Grandchildren, twenty-four Great-Grandchildren and two Great-Great-Grandchildren survive her as well.
The family will receive friends at Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home on Monday, April 30, 2018 from 10:00 until 11:00 AM. A funeral service for Mrs. Lamoureux will be held in the Westmoreland Chapel of Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home at 11:00 AM with Pastors Tad Taylor and Grover Crosswhite officiating. Interment will follow in Fairview Baptist Church Cemetery.
