She was born October 29, 1942, in Bridgeport, Connecticut, and was the daughter of the late George Carey, Sr. and Violet DeSoi Carey. She was a devoted homemaker, enjoyed sewing and was an excellent cook. She will be remembered for her giftedness with crafts.
Donna is survived by her husband, John J. "Jack" Hoffman, whom she married on December 7, 1990; two sons, Billy Sulzman (Angie) and Kevin Sulzman, both of Franklinville, NJ; three step-children, David Hoffman (Tammi) of Elmer, NJ, Denise O'Boyle (Michael) of Gloucester, NJ, and Dale Hoffman (Loretta) of Asheville; two sisters, Sandra Cockran (Billy) of Wyoming and June Bonsall of Collindale, PA; four brothers, George Carey (Diane) and Ed Groce (Lorraine), both of Statesville, Richard Groce (Rose) of Yadkinville, and Bob Groce (Diane) of Bridgeton, NJ; a grandson, Joshua Sulzman of Franklinville, NJ; and three step-grandchildren, Lucynda and Michael Hoffman of Asheville and Jordan Hoffman of Elmer, NJ.
A memorial service celebrating Donna's life will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, November 17, 2010, in the Westmoreland Chapel of Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the funeral home.
