Dennis Howard Mason

Born August 22, 1943 in Alexander County, he was the son of the late Remus Howard Mason and Maggie Miller Mason.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Jack Wooten.

Mr. Mason enjoyed hunting, fishing, visiting with his friends and was active in his church, Union Chapel Baptist Church, serving as a deacon and Sunday school teacher. He was also involved with the Gideon’s International.

He was a veteran on the United States Army, having served during Vietnam.

Mr. Mason worked as a credit manager with FCX and Southern States, and then will Bell & Howard as a commercial salesman.

Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Margaret Alene Johnson Mason, whom he married on November 22, 1967; daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and Andy Russell of Mt. Ulla; one sister, Shelba Wooten of Harmony, and three grandchildren, Rachel Russell, Rebekah Russell and Aaron Russell.

The family will receive friends Saturday, May 30, 2015 from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM at Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home.

The Service celebrating Mr. Mason’s life will be held on Sunday, May 31, 2015 at 3:00 PM at Union Chapel Baptist Church with Rev. Randy Goodin and Rev. William Wease officiating.

Honorary pallbearers will be Carl Bailey, Steve Campbell, Michael Gibson, Anthony Johnson, David Dull, Kent Wooten and Kelvin Wooten.
