He was born September 7, 1928, in Goldsboro, NC, and was the son of the late John Samuel “Sam” and Elizabeth Lynch. He was a faithful member of Diamond Hill Baptist Church for more than 40 years and was a good and faithful servant of the Lord. He served in the U.S. Air Force as a Master Sergeant and was owner and operator of B.M. Lynch Sales Company.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his youngest son, James Samuel Lynch; and a grandson, Chuckie Danyels.
He is survived by his wife, Jean Catherine Burdette Lynch, whom he married on April 2, 1948; three children, Vickie Danyels (Chuck) and Karen Denise McGinnis, both of Statesville, and Chris Lynch (Tina) of Troutman; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral services celebrating Billy’s life will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, October 21, 2015, at Diamond Hill Baptist Church with the Rev. Larry Holleman officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Tuesday, October 20, 2015, at Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home, and at other times will be assembled at the residence.
