Mrs. Almedia Welborn Myers, 92, formerly of Harmony, died Friday at Autumn Care of Statesville. Born in Iredell County on August 18, 1921, she was a daughter of the late Edward Davis Welborn and Mary Shoemaker Welborn. She was formerly a nurse for her late husband, Dr. Dwight L. Myers and was a member of Harmony Baptist Church. She belonged to the Order Of The Eastern Star and served on a committee for nursing home inspections in Iredell County. She also dearly loved her cows.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by brothers: Edward Lee Welborn, Dewey Davis Welborn and Lee Edward Welborn and sisters: Alice Welborn, Helen Mary Welborn and May Lou Welborn.
Survivors include a son and care giver Wesley Robinson of Olin, care giver, Larry Robinson and care giver Carlene Berryman along with a sister-in-law, Clara Arrington Welborn of Statesville.
Services celebrating Mrs. Myers' life will be conducted at 11:00 Monday at Taylor Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Carl Williams and Rev. Perry Link officiating. She will lie in state for one hour prior to the service in the church sanctuary while the family receives friends in the fellowship hall. Pallbearers will be: Joe Berryman, Chris and Wesley Robinson, John Eckman, Dale Williams and Eddie Campbell. Burial will follow in the Grassy Knob Baptist Church Cemetery.
