Wesley Bragg, age 29, passed away Saturday, April 1, 2017 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Wesley was born in Augusta, GA and grew up in Screven County, where he graduated from Screven County High School in 2006. After high school, Wesley attended Ogeechee Technical School, studying to become an Emergency Management Technician and then attended Georgia Southern University, where he was enrolled as a civil engineering student. For the past two years, Wesley was employed with the Georgia Forestry Commission as a Forest Ranger and was also a Wildland Fire Fighter. Even though Wesley loved is career with the Georgia Forestry Commission and could talk for hours about different types of trees and forest scapes, he was most passionate about music. Wesley was a member of the band, Bragg and Company, and was an avid guitarist, songwriter, vocalist and harmonica player. His love of music brought him much joy!
Wesley was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Grover (Buck) Bragg and Frances Johnson; maternal grandparents, James L. and Melba Mangrum and several aunts and uncles.
Wesley is survived by his parents, Gary and Angie Bragg of Collins; brother, Dylan Bragg of Collins; sisters, Brittany Devlin of Summerville, SC and Cristan Bell of Sylvania; godmother, Kimberly Baxter of Screven County; aunts and uncles, Shirley George, Jennifer and Todd Waters and Darryl Mangrum; nieces, Alexis Shae Devlin and Abigail Lynn Devlin; cousins, Rhett Garrison, Rex Garrison, Dwight Thompson, Jeffrey McCullough, Chad Mangrum, Ashley Jones, Paige White, Chelsea Ellis and Corey Waters, Morgan Capps, as well as many other extended family members.
A gathering of family and friends will be held 6:00 to 8:00 PM Friday, April 7, 2017 in Hodges-Moore Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, April 8, 2017 in the chapel of Hodges-Moore Funeral Home with Elder Jake Futch officiating.
Burial will follow in Bulloch Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Mike White, Myles Willis, Smith Baggett, Matthew Schweers, Richard Lynn and Corey Smith.
Honorary pallbearers will be Wesley’s band mates and fellow musicians and his co-workers from the Georgia Forestry Commission.
