Mr. Thomas N. “Tommy” Nasworthy, age 84, died Sunday at the Ogeechee Area Hospice Inpatient Facility. He was a longtime resident of Statesboro and retired in 1994 from the Solomons Drug Company in Savannah after 48 years of service as a wholesale drug salesman. Mr. Nasworthy was a Veteran of the United States Army having served during WWII. He was a member of the First Baptist Church and attended the Statesboro Primitive Baptist Church. Mr. Nasworthy was a Mason, a member of the American Legion and loved spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his wife, Vonceal Nasworthy.
Survivors include his daughter, Kathy Nasworthy Holmes and her husband, Jimmy Holmes of Statesboro; his son, John T. Nasworthy of Statesboro, grandchildren, Wesley Gilbert and Grant Gilbert, both of Statesboro, Thomas (Heather) Nasworthy of Arizona, Brian (Jenica) Nasworthy of New York, Michael Dixon of Arizona, and Jeff Cynkar of Florida; great grandchildren, Patrick, Logan, and Jordan Nasworthy of Arizona; one sister, Reba N. Sikes of Savannah; one brother, Robert W. Nasworthy of Savannah; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Tuesday from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. at Hodges-Moore Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be held Wednesday at 11:00 A.M. in the Chapel of Hodges-Moore Funeral Home with Elder Randy Waters officiating.
Burial will be in Bulloch Memorial Gardens.
The family would like to thank the staff and residents of Willow Pond for their loving care provided to him for the last year and a half.
