Mr. Wells was born in Twin City and lived many years in Savannah before moving to Ellabell in 1979. He was an U.S. Air Force veteran and owned and operated Wells Construction Company for many years. Robert enjoyed gardening and fishing and was of the Baptist faith. Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Raleigh E. and Alma Moore Wells, three brothers and two sisters.
Mr. Wells is survived by his wife, Carolyn R. Wells of Ellabell; seven sons, Ronnie Chance and his wife, Peggy and Kerry Wells and his wife, Rhonda all of Savannah; Danny Wells and his wife, Crystal of Bowling Green, KY; Andy Wells and his wife, Traci of Guyton; Robbie Wells and his wife, Becky of Wetumpka, AL; John Wells and his wife, Kitty of Bluffton, SC and Matt Wells and his wife, Mandy of Springfield; two daughters, Wynna Moore and her husband, James of Sylvania and Yvette Wells and her husband, Greg Carver of Spartanburg, SC; two sisters, Martha Wiggins of Metter and Jackie Collins of Twin City; 36 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends 5:00 to 8:00 PM Wednesday, October 14, 2015 in Hodges-Moore Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, October 15, 2015 in the Chapel of Hodges-Moore Funeral Home with the Reverend John David Durden officiating. Burial will follow in Bulloch Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Ronnie Myrack, James Collins, Austin Wells, Auston Wells, Aaron Wells, Bobby Cook, Johnny Lee Cook and Christopher Lemacks.
