Mr. Robert E. Lanier, age 82 died Wednesday at the Ogeechee Area Hospice Inpatient Facility. He was a native and longtime resident of Bulloch County. Mr. Lanier was a farmer for many years and retired from T.E. Rushing Peanut Company. He served on the Board of Directors of the Bulloch County Department of Family and Children’s Services. Mr. Lanier enjoyed fishing, hunting, and watching baseball.
Survivors include his wife. Dorothy Sparks Lanier of Statesboro; one daughter, Kathy Lanier Davis; one son and daughter-in-law, Randy Michael Lanier and his wife Donna Harville Lanier; his grandchildren, Jincey Davis Botwinski and her husband Lawrence B. Botwinski, Mitchell B. Davis and his wife Mindy Davis, Cora Lanier Barrs and her husband Steven R. Barrs, Lenora M. Lanier and her fiance’ Chris Starling; his great grandchildren, Landon Barrs, John Barrs, Tripp Botwinski and Maddux Davis; four sisters, Eubie Turner, Ollie Dixon, Alva Barford, and Cora Dyson; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Saturday from 9:30 until 11:00 A.M. at Hodges-Moore Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be held Saturday at 11:00 A.M. in the Chapel of Hodges-Moore Funeral Home with Rev. Pete Wall officiating.
Interment will be in Brannen Cemetery.
