Robert Leon Cribbs, Jr., age 92, died early Wednesday at Eagle Health & Rehab. He was a native and longtime resident of Bulloch County. He was a World War II veteran and upon returning home from war went to work at Union Camp as a Millwright and remained there until his retirement. He was a member of Westside Christian Church, loved fishing, gardening, raking his yard and many other outdoor activities. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Pearl Cribbs; his wife, Lois Woods Long Cribbs; one sister, Christine Smith and two brothers, James Cribbs and Alvis “Bo” Cribbs.
Survivors include three step-daughters, Jeanette Stewart of Brooklet, Shirley Lewis of Statesboro, and Bonnie (Jerry) Deal of Brooklet; one brother, Russell (Gloria) Cribbs of Pembroke, one sister, Alma Bragg of Brooklet; eight grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and thirteen great-great-grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Friday from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. at Hodges-Moore Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be held Saturday at 11:00 A.M. in the Chapel of Hodges-Moore Funeral Home with Dr. Reland Morgan officiating.
Pallbearers will be Kenny Stewart, Royce Cribbs, Randy Cribbs, Terry Deal, Greg Smith and Lee Smith.
Entombment will be in the Bulloch Memorial Garden Mausoleum.
